Wachusett Youth Lacrosse is proud to support Eastern Massachusetts Lacrosse Officials Association's (EMLOA) Associate Officials program.

Coverage

  • Associate Officials can officiate Under 9 games alone

  • Associate Officials can officiate Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 games with an EMLOA Official

  • Senior Associate Officials can officiate Under 9 games alone

  • Senior Associate Officials can officiate Under 11 games alone

  • Senior Associate Officials can officiate Under 13 and Under 15 games with an EMLOA Official

 

WYL Assigns AO's for all regularly scheduled home games and utilizes between 3 and 6 AO's each season.

 

In addition to meeting EMLOA's standards described below, candidates must have participated in WYL for 3 years and have the support of their high school coach and a WYL coach or board member.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Age – Must be 16 years of age by March 1 (exceptions may be made for 15 year olds who have been approved by the town after discussion with the Regional Referee Coordinator)

  • School Level – Program is open to High School students who meet the minimum age requirement.

  • High School and College students who are 18 and older by March 1, 2018 are eligible for a more advanced officiating program

  • Associate Officials must be a certified Associate Member of EMLOA

    • Complete Registration and pay annual dues

    • Complete Classroom Training

    • Successfully complete EMLOA AO certification test

    • New candidates must complete mentoring process

  • Associate Officials from MBYLL towns must Register on MBYLL site.

  • Senior Associate Officials – must be a High School Senior and have at least two years of high performance as an Associate Official
