*Lacrosse is a physical and potentially dangerous team sport. If you are playing
another spring sport your playing time in games will be determined by your practice
attendance. WYL will not play players that have not been attending practices because
of the increased risk of injury.

Player/Parent Commitment and Code of Conduct Pledge
|
|
Team sports require commitment to the team. In addition to developing your individual
skills, you must learn to play with your teammates. Teammates must be able to rely
and depend on one another. The shared experience of teamwork is one of the key lessons
to be learned from team sports. The Wachusett Youth Lacrosse (WYL) expects a commitment
equal to your commitment to other sports and activities in which you are involved
during the season. We do not ask you to put lacrosse ahead of other sports or activities
but only that you do not put other activities ahead of lacrosse. Please think carefully
about the number of activities you plan to participate in this spring before you
register.

I am expected to be at every practice and every game. However, from time to time
situations may arise (such as illness, school or family activities, etc.) which
will prevent me from attending. I agree to contact my coach in a timely manner when
these situations occur. In the case of systematic conflicts (such as overlapping
schedules with other sports or activities), I will speak to my coach, in advance,
and work out a satisfactory solution which shares the conflict equally with my other
activities. I understand that unexcused absences from practices or games will lead
to reduced playing time, suspension from games and, ultimately, my being dropped
from the team and program without refund. I accept these responsibilities and pledge
my commitment to the team.
|
|
|
|
Players and parents are to conduct themselves in a manner that "Honors the
Game" and demonstrates respect to other players, coaches, officials, spectators
& our community. In becoming a member of the Wachusett Lacrosse community an
individual assumes these obligations and responsibilities to the game of lacrosse
and its participants. Players and parents agree to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike
and socially responsible manner at all times. I understand that unsportsmanlike
behavior toward the referees, staff of WYL, playing facilities or opposing players
& parents, may result in suspension or expulsion from the session/league without
refund.
|
|
|
|
If a coach/player is thrown out of a game, the board will review the facts of the
incident. This review may ultimately result in the offending individual being
suspended for the balance of the year with no refund. The board
may also take further action and not allow this individual to play in any future
years.
